Adopt a Mile/Court of Honor

Adopt a Mile  is Saturday (March 30) at 9AM.  If your scout is not on the backpacking trip, please join us.  We meet at Chase Bank (Publix shopping center on E. Piedmont across from the YMCA).  We need several adults to help monitor the scouts as we typically split into 2 groups to cover our section of East Piedmont from Roswell Road to Allgood.  Time commitment is 1 to 1 1/2 hours.  This counts toward service hours...and you never can tell what treasures you may find.

Court of Honor:  Monday's Court of Honor is at the Fellowship Hall.  We will recognize all rank advancements and merit badges earned since our December Court of Honor.  We will also incorporate Omar's Eagle Court of Honor.  Hawks and 2nd year scouts (Ent) should arrive at 7PM to help set-up.  If your scout has been asked to participate in the flag ceremony or Omar's Court of Honor, they may have been asked to arrive at 7PM for practice. The older scouts will handle clean-up.  The celebration will begin at 7:30PM.  Scouts should be in full field uniform wearing their merit badge sash if they have one.  Mothers are reminded to wear their mother's ribbons.  This is a family event.  Refreshments will be served.  The Fellowship Hall is at the opposite corner of ECUMC where we meet.  Continue driving past the sanctuary, turn right, and the Fellowship Hall is the last door on the right.

Camp Cards—Leslie H. will have camp cards at the Court of Honor.  She will also accept camp cards that you are planning to return.  This fundraiser will end during Cobb County Spring Break.

Fundraising Garage Sale - April 20 and 21st

We have firmed up the dates for our Garage Sale fundraiser. The dates will be April 20 and 21, and you can bring stuff by Friday April 19th.

This has been a big money earner for us in the past, serving lots of great purposes...not the least of which is helping us clear out our attics, closets and garages and raising funds for new equipment and other key needs. Believe it or not, we have raised as much as $1,000 in one weekend doing this sale. We have great signs that reel people in from all over and we make it easy for people to buy everything they see.

We ask that you start setting aside sell-able goods that you want to get rid of and reserve them for the garage sale. With "stuff" from about 40 families, it adds up quick and creates a lot of excitement.

The sale will be at the Lee's residence, which is not far from the Church.

There will be more information as we get closer to the date. If you have any questions in the mean time, please do not hesitate to contact Lee B.

As a reminder, you can see a calendar of scheduled activities on the Troop website at http://www.troop435.org/
