Upcoming Events and Activities


Saturday, October 15:    Merit Badge University is this Saturday at
Kennesaw State University.  Meet at ECUMC parking lot to leave by 7AM.
Wear Class A uniform. Juice and Chick-Fil-A biscuit provided by KSU.
Bring:  troop permission form, waiver form, merit badge book and
pencil, any completed pre-requisites, snack money or a snack.  Scouts
will get blue cards to give to the instructor and need to make sure to
get the signed blue card at the end of class.  We should be back
around 1PM.

Monday, October 17:   Popcorn orders and money are due.  We will also
be collecting troop dues--$75 per scout and $25 per registered adult
on Monday. Registered adults must have Youth Protection training that
expires after 3/1/12.

Coin Collecting Merit Badge will be offerred during Monday's meeting.
Interested scouts should bring the parts of their coin collection that
address any of the 5 requirements as well as any manageable portion of
their collection they would like to show and maybe tell the troop
about (goes toward completion of the final badge requirement).  Coin
Collection MB worksheets are attached.

Summer Camp 2012:  We are heading to Skymont Scout Reservation in
middle Tennessee the week of July 8-13.  Save the date...and let us
know if your son plans to attend.   We will have a sign-up sheet at
Monday's meeting.

October 29/30:  We are backpacking at Woody Gap near Suches, GA.  A
sign-up sheet has been circulating at the meetings.  We will meet at
ECUMC parking lot Saturday, October 29 at 8AM.  We are collecting $10
to cover transportation.  Scouts should find a tent buddy to share the
weight; scouts may want to find a cooking buddy to split the weight of
food.

November 5:  Adopt a Mile.  Meet at 9AM across from the YMCA on E.
Piedmont to help spruce up our mile.  This is a great opportunity to
earn service hours and help our community.  Time commitment is about 1
1/2 hours.

November 11-13:    We are camping at the Allatoona Scout Camp on
Friday, November 11 to Sunday, November 13.  This is a great
opportunity for boys to practice cooking and work on scout skills
required for rank advancement.  Sign-up has started.

December 5:  Court of Honor

December 9-11:--indoor climbing.  We are looking at several options
for this weekend.
